Fault code 3.7.17 (.200) Failed to add Miele appliance

The attempt to add a Miele appliance in the Miele app fails and fault code 3.7.17 (.200) is displayed.

The ports in the router or standard gateway are blocked.

Check the system requirements for networked Miele domestic appliances and make sure that ports 80, 443, 53 and 5353 are open.

The system requirements are available at Miele@home > Miele app > System requirements for WiFi.

An alternative DNS server on the network is in use, e.g. Cloudflare (1.1.1.1; 1.1.1.2).

Use your Internet provider’s DNS server and register it on your router.

Once the Miele domestic appliance has been successfully added to the Miele app, the IP address of the DNS server on the router can be changed to an alternative DNS server.
Manually switch the DNS server for the Miele domestic appliance in the Miele app to the provider as follows: tap the name of the appliance > Tap  > Activate Manual network configuration > Network.

DNS ad blockers and privacy apps are being run on the smartphone/tablet at the same time as the Miele app. These apps stop the Miele app from working properly.

Before adding a new Miele domestic appliance to the Miele app, temporarily deactivate all DNS ad blockers and privacy apps that are running.

There is a fault with the electronic data plate for the Miele domestic appliance.

The smartphone/tablet must be connected to the Miele domestic appliance’s access point (own WiFi) when the appliance electronic data plate needs to be checked. The menu navigation can vary depending on the domestic appliance and what equipment and software it has.
