Experience the new vacuum-sealing drawer by Miele – complementary design meets refined slow cooking
Enjoying perfectly cooked food is one of life’s great joys – especially when flavour and tenderness have been preserved during the cooking process. And while many today are aware that vacuum-sealing food is a tried-and-tested method of extending its storage life, more are waking up to the pleasures of steam cooking vacuum-packed ingredients for sensational results.
Termed sous-vide, French for “under vacuum”, this style of cooking is popular at high-end and fine-dining restaurants the world over. Ingredients are vacuum-packed in plastic bags and are then cooked at a low but constant temperature for extended periods of time. This allows herbs, seasonings and marinades to develop their flavours fully without evaporation, and meat, fish or vegetables to remain tender and moist without losing substance.
To bring a taste of this into your own kitchen, Miele has created the new vacuum-sealing drawer. Designed to work perfectly in tandem with your own steam oven, it conforms to our Pureline built-in appliances for seamless integration. All you need to do is set the vacuum level and sealing duration and you are ready to go. And because all Miele steam ovens cover a temperature range of 45˚C to 90˚C while maintaining your selected setting to within a precision of 1˚C, you can enjoy sous-vide steam cooking for periods of up to 10 hours.
Furthermore, the new vacuum sealing drawer helps to eliminate food spoilage. Simply apportion your meat or fish to the desired size, and you can vacuum-seal it so its storage life is extended by three to five times, and stays fresher for longer in the freezer without the risk of freezer burn.
The new vacuum-sealing drawer is available in CleanSteel and Brilliant White, so you can match it perfectly to your existing kitchen setup without compromising on style or design.
